Fade Dark Spots and Even Your Tone

Why Choose Rejuve Med Spa For Sun Damange and Pigmentation?

You see them in certain light, or the second you take off your makeup. The spots, the patches, the uneven tone that was not there a few years ago.

Sun damage and hyperpigmentation are some of the most common skin concerns, and some of the most frustrating, because they often build slowly and then seem to stick around no matter what you try.

At Rejuve Med Spa in Foothill Ranch, we take a non-invasive approach to brightening and evening the skin. Our treatments work to lift away damaged surface cells, fade discoloration, and bring back a more even, radiant tone over time.

Sun Damage and Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation happens when the skin produces excess melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color. That extra pigment can collect in patches or spots and leave the skin looking uneven.

There are a few common types. Sun spots and age spots come from years of sun exposure. Melasma often appears as larger patches and can be tied to hormones. Post-inflammatory marks are the discoloration left behind after a breakout or irritation.

Our non-invasive treatments work in a few ways. Some resurface and exfoliate the top layers to lift away pigmented cells, and others encourage fresh, even-toned skin to come through. Because pigment sits at different depths and the skin renews gradually, this kind of work tends to improve over a series, with daily sun protection as a key part of keeping it.

What Are The Benefits Of Pigmentation Treatment?

Our brightening treatments in Foothill Ranch do more than fade a single spot:

  • A more even, uniform skin tone

  • Softer-looking dark spots and discoloration

  • A brighter, more radiant complexion

  • Smoother skin texture

  • Natural, gradual results rather than a harsh change

  • A plan built around your skin, not a one-size-fits-all routine

By resurfacing the skin and supporting healthy renewal, we help clients work toward a clearer, more even tone over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate for pigmentation treatment?

Our brightening treatments are often a good fit for people who have sun spots, age spots, uneven skin tone, or blemishes, want a natural approach to brightening, and are willing to maintain their results with daily sun protection.

What causes sun spots and uneven tone?

Sun damage and skin pigmentation issues, such as age spots and freckles, result from prolonged exposure to UV rays. Skin tone and texture can be uneven due to these conditions.

Will my dark spots come back?

Yes, dark spots can return, especially if their underlying triggers such as sun exposure, inflammation, or hormonal changes are not actively managed. While treatments can effectively fade existing spots, the pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) can be reactivated by triggers, causing discoloration to reappear.

Why is sunscreen so important during treatment?

Sunscreen prevents severe burns, scarring, and permanent discoloration by shielding vulnerable skin compromised by aesthetic treatments. Treatments leave the skin temporarily thinned and stripped of its natural protective barrier, leaving it highly susceptible to UV damage. So don't forget your sunscreen!

How many sessions will I need to see results?

Depends on the severity of the dark spots. For chemical peels and microchanneling, most patients require at least 3 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart to see noticeable, optimal results. During this time, using our recommended skincare, specifically made for hyperpigmentation, see bigger improvements when used together.

Which treatment is right for my type of pigmentation?

The right treatment depends on the underlying cause of the pigmentation, its depth, and your skin tone. For example, chemical peels or Tranexamic Acid, which calms inflammation and reduces stubborn pigment, are commonly used treatments for melasma (hormonal pigmentation). Chemical peels, microchanneling, and products that brighten and inhibit melanin, such as niacinamide, azelaic acid, and retinoids, are treatments that tackle post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH from acne or injury). We will tailor a treatment plan that works for you.

Can I combine multiple treatments?

Yes, combining treatments is highly recommended and often yields the most effective results for hyperpigmentation, as it allows you to target pigment from multiple angles: stopping its production, speeding up cell turnover, and breaking up existing melanin. Many of our clients choose to combine chemical peels with microchanneling.
